What is e-browse?
e-browse is a cutting
edge Internet application,
that allows you to enjoy
high-quality multimedia
digital content over the
Internet using conventional
hardware. This technology
allows real-time interactivity
in both wired and wireless
environments to display
digital image content regardless
of file size with an easy,
intuitive interface.
e-browse features are:
- e-browse does
not load the whole image
data to memory as it
loads only the portion
users need to see. This
is known as "partial
access".
- e-browse achieves
high-speed access to
large-size and high-resolution
image data through streaming
technology using conventional
hardware.
- Large-volume and
high-resolution image
data can be viewed in
detail using one mouse-click
zoom in/out and navigation
interface.
- Reduction in system
load through strip/block
partition technology
and direct image display
technology from hard
disk to screen. Only
data that the users
requests are loaded
on the screen, thereby
decreasing network and
hardware resource usage,
enabling constant high-speed
browsing.
2.
Why is e-browse unique?
With e-browse, online
users enjoy the exact same
copy of the publications
as the printed edition on
multiple platforms such
as PC, PDA, HDTV and PDP
in real-time at high-speed.
Various multimedia contents
in the newspaper can be
embedded allowing you to
enjoy value-added and dynamic
content.
3.
What are the features available
in e-browse?
- Page
Flipping Effect (2D/3D)
With a simple mouse
click, users can flip
through pages, thereby
rendering a flipping
effect similar to how
readers usually flip
pages with printed books.
The flipping feature
enhances the readability
of online content and
delivers a fun factor.
- Zoom
In/Out & Panning
Effect
Readers can zoom in
(left mouse click) and
zoom out (right mouse
click) of the content
with simple, easy-to-use
navigation. The zoom
feature enhances the
readability of content,
which is the main draw
back of conventional
solutions.
The panning feature
allows users to browse
through the content
by simply dragging the
mouse to the desired
location.
- Dynamic
Mosaic View
Rearranges all pages
of content into one
screen, enabling fast
and intuitive viewing.
Since readers can view
all pages on one screen
instead of having to
browse through each
page one at a time,
they can quickly find
and browse through pages
using the panning/zooming
features. The dynamic
mosaic feature significantly
increases readability
of content.
- Thumbnail
Index
Image based thumbnails
of all pages will be
available as index in
lieu of text based index.
Hence, readers will
be able to intuitively
and visually find pages.
Thumbnails can be provided
as a "preview"
service of content to
customers, so that they
can purchase content
online after having
a visual idea of the
content available.
- Clipping
Readers can clip images,
articles, recipes and
information from the
content and save the
clipped information
in "My Clipping".
Additional comments
can be made and saved
with the clipped information,
and printed later. Clipping
is similar to the act
of ripping out the pages
from magazines and newspapers
that contain interesting
information that interest
you such as; fashion,
recipes, timetable,
classifies, and more.
- Multimedia
Publishers can embed
rich media in exciting
and effective ways onto
the content, example;
movie clips, TV commercials,
music videos, live audio
interviews, flash animations
and much more. This
multimedia-embedding
feature offers usage
of rich media to fully
exploit the advantage
of online service over
offline.

the articles are blurred

Streamyx. With a slower
Internet connection, it
will take sometime for the
image to become clear as
the image detail is being
retrieve from the server.
Please note that we recently
put a page download indicator,
which is a bar at the top
center of the e-browse page.
You should be able to tell
that the page is still downloading
when you see the progress
bar. This bar will disappear
once the image finish downloaded.
