START

  1. Click on the publication of interest to begin using e-browse.  A new window will pop up with your selected e-browse content.
  2. If this is the first e-browse is running on your PC, the e-browse plug-in will be automatically installed to your web browser. A security warning may appear when e-browse try to install the plug-in.
  3. For user using Window Vista click here for the setting.


  4. Click on the Yes button and you’ll see language selection. Select your preferred language and then click the OK button.


  5. Should the automatic plug-in installation fail, you can also manually download and install the plug-in file here.
  6. 5. If you’re accessing the Internet through firewall, e-browse will show a dialog box requesting confirmation to switch to “behind firewall” mode. Click on Switch button.


  7. If you're still having problem viewing, please check your ActiveX setting (click here for detail).
  8. Once the page appears, you're ready to experience e-browse.

BASIC NAVIGATION

  1. Left click your mouse to zoom in to a specific section for better readability and sharper img.
  2. Right click your mouse to zoom out for more content.
  3. Left click and drag the mouse to move around the page or use the navigation arrow to do the same function.

  4. Press the left or right arrow key on your keyboard to move to the previous or next page respectively.  Alternatively, you can also click on the flip page icon at the bottom corner of the page (in 2 page view).
  5. Use the navigation bar for other menu and navigation choices.

 

ACTIVEX SETTING

To enable e-browse plug-in in the web browse, you need to ensure the web browser has the following ActiveX setting.

  1. In Internet Explorer, click on Tools, Internet Options, and then Security tab.


  2. Click on Custom Level... button.


  3. Make sure in the Settings: window,
    1. Download signed ActiveX controls is set to Prompt or Enable.
    2. Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins is set to Prompt or Enable.
  4. Then click the OK button to commit setting changes.
  5. You need to restart your web browser (Internet Explorer) for the changes to take effect.

NAVIGATION BAR

 



  1. Select publication date.  Default is today's date and archived up to 7 days.
  2. Select sections within the publication to quickly go to the first page of that section.


  3. Go to first page.
  4. Go to previous page.
  5. Go to next page.
  6. Go to last page.
  7. Go to specified page.
  8. View in 2 page format.
  9. View in mosaic format.



  10. Zoom in.
  11. Zoom out.
  12. Magnifying glass to quickly enlarge a certain section.


  13. Show page index.  You can click on any page in the page index to quickly move to that particular page.
  14. Show clipping rectangle, where you can resize the rectangle to mark a specific section within the page.  Use in conjunction with save and print feature.
  15. Save clipping to a file.  The file can be saved in JPG or BMP format.
  16. Print clipping. 
  17. Close and exit e-browse.
